The engines, upper flap hinges and engine bay were airbrushed. After assembling the fuselage, it and the flaps were plated with panels cut from aluminum tape to mimic the stainless steel panels of the original Starship Mk1.
The flaps were then glued to the fuselage and the whole model was coated in a clear coat to make it more durable.
The view into the engine bay of the model. The engines are relatively low detail because they usually are not visible and this way they could be printed easily.
A rendering of the full model in Fusion 360. The model was designed for printing on an Ultimaker2+ from the start, which meant that the fuselage had to be split into three parts to fit inside the build volume.
This are all 18 parts of the kit layed out for printing on the Ultimaker2+. The print duration was about 2 1/4 days. The fuselage was split at the point where the lower flaps end and where the nose cone starts to taper in.
The small ring in the front was glued in the joint of the two large fuselage parts to make the connection more sturdy.
