In an old saloon in the wild west, a gunfight breaks out when a gambler is shot by a long-time debtor. The saloon-owner finds himself shot and bleeding on the ground. 

At the moment of his death, he gets caught in a time loop and is forced to relive the day he died over and over again. Slip into the role of the almost dead bartender in this 3D first person Adventure and manipulate the events of the day, so the fight never happens and you survive! 

Responsibilities

Creation of AI systems and setting up NPC AI using these systems

  • Pathfinding using Unity’s Nav Mesh

  • Ability to interact with objects in the environment

  • Routine statemachines that can be manipulated by player actions in the current or previous cycles of the time loop

Implementation of interactive environment objects

  • Lockable doors and containers that may require a specific item to open

Implementing a checkpoint based savestate system to enable actions taken in one cycle to have influence on the next

Creation of systems for a dynamic cutscene that plays out differently depending on player progress

Setup of a 3D menu

  • Objects in the 3D scene acting as buttons

  • Dynamic camera reacting to mouse movement and selection

Design and implementation of various effect shaders

  • Several fresnel glow shaders

  • A dithered fade shader

  • An undulating effect for the void outside the saloon

Dynamic input switching between keyboard and mouse or controller

Modeling of various environment objects, as well as helping out with the creation of the chaotic low poly look of assets created by teammembers

Animation of environmental objects

  • Doors

  • openable containers

  • Menu objects

Baking of static light

Coming up with the original pitch and directing the team to stay true to this original idea

Creating marketing material
